The Reason I Moved from WPS to Microsoft 365

I have been using WPS Office on my desktop computer for over 2 years. The personal basic version of WPS Office is free to use on Windows. A document I used regularly got corrupted last year, I was unable to get it repaired and needless to state I haven’t been able to use the document again.

About 3 months ago I had another important document lost and since then I have had a total of 4 important documents corrupted and unable to restore them. This afternoon I purchased Microsoft 365 Office personal. I paid R949 @IT Computer Store (ex-Matrix Warehouse). All my files have now been transferred to Microsoft 365 and I feel better as I have had good experience of Office in the past. “You pay but you get quality”. In the United States, Microsoft 365 Personal goes for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year.

It is paramount that you also backup all your files. Should a document get corrupted you can always revert to the saved copy in your external hard drive.

Notes:

A file becomes corrupted when a piece or pieces of the data that form it are lost. As a result, when a user tries to open such a file, the storage media is unable to reconstruct it and reports an error. At other times, the data required to reconstruct the file is still present, but the media is unable to locate it.
